Wonderful concert! Superb Musicianship. The Kodaly was outstanding. The Morlock was a Manitoba debut for Virtuosi. Congratulations to Miona on her performance. It's good to be at Virtuosi concerts again. (PM)
A joy to share in the gift of music in community again. (NG)
This music was not what i would generally 'expect' to hear at a Virtuosi concert but perhaps that is why I enjoyed it so much!
The rep varied style and era, not to mention the rare violin/cello duo. A special show-thank you! (SW)
Miona - lovely
Robert & Rafael
Kodaly-Awful piece but they played well together. Talented musicians but choice o "music" not my 'cup of tea' with lots of discolorant sounds not flowing like I prefer. If this is modern music I won't be spending my $ to attend. Praeladium and Passacaglia-GREAT. McPherson's lament melodic but not appropriate for honoring Ukrainians. (DC)
Youth artist spectacular. Talented with a fine future ahead.
Kreisler without piano was very pleasant. The cello still provided chord structure in delightful flowing style. Fine opener to intro their talents.
Kodaly was evocative of so many memories. Challenging work that they made sound so smooth. Great!!
Morlock-An imaginative challenge.
Handel--familiar and friendly. Great way to close the show. Sending us home with an old friend (dressed in some new clothes). Loved the soft moments.
Thanks for a great day. Wonderful to see friends again. Fine encore too! (GB)
So good to be back at last! Moved to tears by the encore Lament. Thank you, we can never delve too often into feeling the sadness of the many trials of the past 2 years. Music has such power to move us and return to our humanity. (ANONYMOUS)
Excellent variety of music for this unusual combination of instruments. Wonderful ensemble playing. (ME)
Beautiful program-my 1st live convert for 2+ years. Thank you. (ANONYMOUS)
A real pleasure to hear an intimate concert for the first time in 2 years. Beautiful playing! (AH)
Fantastic! Stellar performance. Especially loved the rearranged Kreisler piece for violin & cello. Thank you!! Beautiful and thoughtful encore! (SB)
Great variety. Loved the young artist. (KM)
Great music. Really enjoyed the program! (JB)
Very entertaining. (JJ)
Best wishes Miona in your studies at U of MB. I was 1st BBMUS grad there 55 years ago!
1. Kreisler-Awesome collaboration of two very fine musicians! Love their sense of humour.
2. Kodaly-Loved exchange of the pizzicati. Total contrasts between sweeping phrases and much lighter passages. Such delicate ppp passages. Being unfamiliar with this work, at times it was difficult to follow the many contrasting sections.
3. Morlock-much preferred this contemporary work over the Kodaly. Thanks you!
4. Handel- Robert and Rafael are very gifted musicians, perfectly attuned to one another. A perfect partnership who obviously enjoy their comraderies and express their joy to their audience. One might say a Dynamic Duo!
Handel-Lovely to end this concert with magnificent musicianship via the masterful Baroque era composer. They "Handeled" it beautifully! Bravo!
McPherson's Lament! How appropriate to hear this during a very troubled world! (MJ)
Big thank you for keeping the protocols in place! (KL)
Enjoyable concert! It was truly a gift to listen to LIVE music again. (AB)
